January 2017 Newsletter

Principal’s Message

Welcome back and Happy New Year. I hope everyone had an amazing holiday. The staff at South Perth is excited for the second half of the school year. The character attribute for the month of January is Responsibility. Students are able to demonstrate responsibility at school by completing assigned work on time, and to the best of their ability.

Quote about Responsibility

“In the long run we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.”
-Eleanor Roosevelt

A quick reminder now that the cold weather has arrived to make sure students are appropriately dressed for recess. This includes hats, mitts, water resistant boots and a heavier jacket.

Also, please be sure to consult ourschoolbuses.ca on mornings when the weather is less than ideal. Information will also be immediately posted to our school home page.

We are looking forward to a positive 2017. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me directly at the school.

A Message from Mrs. Puttock

I would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to the whole South Perth community. I received so many well wishes, cards, gifts, reminiscences from so many people over the last few weeks from staff, students, parents and Parent Council. My party with the children and everyone who attended on my last day was wonderful and emotional. I will always remember my time at South Perth. It has been a big part of my life for a long time and I will miss it, even though I am looking forward to this new stage of my life. Thank you all so much.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Puttock
