Principal’s Message

As we turn the corner into February, we are grateful for the unusually warm winter weather and perhaps brace ourselves for what might come next.  Please remember to continue to encourage your children to dress appropriately for the weather – snow pants, boots, coats, mittens or gloves, hats, scarves, as well as a stash of extra socks and dry clothing help to prepare everyone for daily recess weather.

Report cards come home this month and we begin our second term on February 3rd.

Our character attribute for this month is perseverance.  We are looking for examples of grit, determination and working through the failures until you find success. The key is to never give up.

Bus cancellations

Bus canellations will be announced on Twitter, www.yourschoolbuses.ca and local radio stations.

While we aim to post information as early as possible, there are instances where late notices occur.  Please be patient with the Transportation team who are out on the roads before 5 a.m. assessing for safe travel and bus safety for your children.

Camp Celtic Fundraising

Our Grade 8 students are doing some fundraising for their trip to Camp Celtic in May.  They are selling Little Caesars Pizza Kits until February 10th.  They will be selling Elmira Chicken and hanging baskets from Huron Ridge later in the Spring.  Look for these coming up.

Math Night

We will be hosting a math night for Seaforth PS families on Wednesday March 1st  from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Come out for a night of adventure with Math Around the World.  We will have math activities, games, prizes and take home items.

Illness, holidays or early pick-up

Parents and guardians must notify the office of an absence due to illness or vacation trips.

When a student is to be dismissed or leaving school early due to an appointment, the office must be notified and the parent/guardian must sign the student out at the office.  It is most important that the office is aware of these situations to record information for safe arrival and safe dismissal.

Please do not text your child during instructional time with messages or alternative arrangements for dismissal or pick up.  Messages must come through the office.  Thank you for your understanding and support with this request.

Cash Online

Coming soon to Seaforth Public School – School Cash Online.  With SchoolCashOnline you’ll be able to:

  • Pay for your child’s school fees online. Anytime, anywhere.
  • Avoid the hassle of having cash on-hand to pay for school fees.
  • Get automatic email notifications about school fees.
  • Help us reduce the amount of cash in our schools.

There will be more information about how we will roll out this convenient system coming in the March newsletter.
