June 2017 Final Newsletter

June 23, 2017

Next week at school there are several events planned for students to take part in. We are excited about the different opportunities that we will have as a school. Thanks to everyone who has made them possible.

On Monday, June 26 there will be two events for our students.
– Canada’s 150 Celebration Spirit Day in the morning – please wear red and white
– We will have lunch and recess from 11:35 am-12:15 p.m.
– Our Kindergarten class will be swimming at the Lions Pool in Stratford from 12:45-1:15 p.m and then returning to school.
– Our Gr 1-8 students will be swimming at the Lions Pool in Stratford from 1:15 – 2:30 p.m.
Please note that these are slightly different times then we had originally shared. The pool needed us to make some changes. Please send a towel, bathing suit and plastic bag to school for swimming.

On Tuesday, June 27 our students will have a visit from a human and an animal friend from the K-W Humane Society. Report cards will go home with students. Please sign and return the student/parent portion.

On Wednesday, June 28 we will have an extra recess as a reward from our Jump Rope For Heart incentives. Our Gr 8 class will also be celebrating at 7 p.m. in the school gym.

On Thursday, June 29 all of our staff and students will join together at 9 a.m. for an assembly to celebrate our amazing year as well as to honor our two retiring teachers, Mrs. Bundrea and Mrs. Masson. Parents are welcome to join us. We will also have a school wide movie as our second reward from our Jump Rope For Heart incentives.

At this time in the year we have to also say Good Bye to some staff members. As mentioned Mrs. Masson and Mrs. Bundrea are retiring and we wish them well. We also say thank you and best wishes to Mr. Town and Miss Ross.

In September we will welcome Ms. Browning and Mlle. Miller to our staff at North Easthope. We know that they will love getting to know all of our “Eagles”.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of you for the privilege of getting to know your child(ren). I have loved listening to them read, hearing their stories and spending time with them on the yard and in the classroom. I hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer with friends and family and I look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday, September 5th.

Yours truly,
Jo Anne Knechtel
