Principal’s Message
It’s hard to believe, but the first full month of school is behind us and it is already October! Everyone has settled into new routines and learning continues to be at the forefront of all that is happening at Brookside Public School. As we enter October, many fun and educational activities will carry us through the fall. As always, your thoughts are welcome. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school using the information found in this newsletter.
Empathy
October’s virtue is Empathy. When we practice empathy, we strive to sense and appreciate the emotions of others. We demonstrate appreciation of, and concerns for, their feelings. We try to understand issues from their perspectives even though we may not agree with them personally.
Brookside’s Website and Calendar
Information regarding timetables, the school newsletter and links to teacher websites can be found on our school’s website. There is also a tab along the top of the webpage titled “Calendar”. If you click on this tab and select “Brookside Events”, you will find a live calendar of events that will take place involving Brookside Public School. Information will be updated as it is made available, so check in regularly. Our web address can be found in the letterhead at the top of the newsletter.
Cans for the Lions
We are still collecting pop cans for the Lucknow Lions Club. If you have cans you would like to donate, there is a container inside the front door of the school for this purpose. The Lions donate the proceeds back to the community and to our school.
